NEW! Refrigerator Card Program for Seniors
The Department offers senior citizens an informational card they can display on their refrigerator. The cards are a bright neon color. On this card is recorded pertinent information about themselves, such as: their name, date of birth, doctors' names, medication information, emergency phone numbers and medical history. During an emergency, medical rescue crews know exactly where to look for this information. Refrigerator cards are available at the Bristol Police Department.
The Bristol Police Department in its commitment to public safety currently maintains three Child Safety Seat inspectors and installers: Sergeant Julie Veader; Patrolman Gregory Silva; and Patrolman Steven St. Pierre. These officers are available to conduct a child seat check during their respective shifts. Calls for appointments should be made directly to one of these officers. If the officer is currently not on duty, ask to be forwarded to his or her voicemail for an appointment. Periodically, child seat clinics are held at the Bristol Police Department on weekends and these dates and times are advertised in the Bristol Phoenix or online. There is no fee for this service.
The Bristol Police Department provides records checks and fingerprints by appointment on Thursday in accordance with Rhode Island General Laws for Bristol residents or employees of any public or private school department in the Town of Bristol. Records checks not associated with a school district can be left at the front desk and will be forwarded to the record check officer for completion. These checks may take three to five working days to complete. Please indicate whether you will pick up the completed check in person or return by mail. Fees do apply in some types of checks.

If you own a business, it is important that you complete the Business Information Form and return it to the station. All of the information is loaded into our CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system. It also serves to aid in locating your business and ensures a rapid response by our officers to a problem at your business. It also collects information that would be used in the event of a fire emergency.
