Public Participation

Public Participation at Council Meetings

  1. The Public forum shall be at the end of the meeting.
  2. No issue discussed during the regular agenda of the Town Council is to be addressed during the Public Forum
  3. Issues are limited to substantive town business. NO COMMENTS REGARDING PERSONNEL OR JOB PERFORMANCE ARE ALLOWED AND WILL BE RULED OUT OF ORDER
  4. Total time allotted for the Public Forum is fifteen minutes. Please be as brief as possible so as to allow fellow citizens an opportunity to speak.
  5. No one individual is to be allowed the floor for more than five minutes.
  6. Citizens are to complete the "Public Participation Form" and submit to the Town Clerk prior to the start of the meeting.
  7. Rulings regarding the interpretation of this policy are left to the discretion of the Chairman.
