Dog License Information

Dog licenses must be renewed during the month of April every year.  The licensing year is May 1st through April 30th.

The license fee is $6 per dog.  Pit bull breeds require not less than $25,000 liability insurance, a form provided by the Town Clerk’s office must be completed, and the license fee is $10. 

A valid rabies certificate is required at the time of registration.  The vaccination must be current and valid into the licensing year.

Traditionally during the month of April, the Town holds a rabies clinic where dogs and cats can receive their rabies vaccination at a reduced rate.  Licenses for dogs may be obtained at the clinic.  Dates, times, and other details will be advertised in the Bristol Phoenix.

No more than three (3) dogs over the age of 6 months are allowed in any household before first obtaining a Kennel License from the Town.
