Diane C. Mederos was elected to her fourth term as Town Administrator in November, 2010 having been first elected to the office in 2004.

Mrs. Mederos’ first elected public office was as town clerk in December, 1984; she was the first woman in Bristol to hold the office. A graduate of Bristol High School in 1970, Diane went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and English from Rhode Island College in 1974.  She received a second degree in 1994 from Roger Williams University in Business Administration. In May, 2000, Diane was awarded a Masters Degree in Public Administration by the University of Rhode Island. 

Diane is affiliated with several professional organizations and is currently serving as the President of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns, the first woman elected to serve in this capacity.  She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust.

Diane was honored to be chosen the Chief Marshal of the 216th Bristol Fourth of July Celebration in 2001; she received the Outstanding Community Service Award by the Portuguese American Women’s Association in April, 2002. Diane was honored in May, 2010 with a Doctor of Public Service, honoris causa, from Roger Williams University for her dedication to “…scholarship, community and the civil exchange of ideas…”.
