Diane C. Mederos began her first term as Town Administrator in 2004 after serving as Bristol’s Town Clerk for twenty years. Diane Mederos was first elected into public office as Town Clerk of Bristol, Rhode Island. She served in the position of Clerk since December, 1984, the first woman to hold this office in Bristol. She served on the Board of Directors of East Bay Mental Health from 1995 to 2001, and has been a member of the Bristol Rotary Club. She is a trustee of the Mount Hope Trust in Bristol and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Bristol Train of Artillery Armory/Museum Corporation. A graduate of Bristol High School in 1970, Diane went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and English from Rhode Island College in 1974 and received a second degree in 1994 from Roger Williams University in Business Administration. In 2000 Diane completed her Masters in Public Administration at the University of Rhode Island in May. Diane is affiliated with several professional organizations, and is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns. Diane has enjoyed being a mentor and is also a member of the Mentor Advisory Committee. Married to Anthony Mederos, they have a daughter, Tracie. Diane resides in Bristol, where she has been honored as the Chief Marshal of the 216th Fourth of July Celebration, and was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award in 2000 by the Democrat Town Committee. |
