A feasibility study is an assessment that looks at the practicality of a proposed plan or method. The Town of Bristol commissions studies to analyze the likelihood of success of a potential project.
The Town of Bristol regularly partners with the Roger Williams University CPC Program to give students the opportunity to apply their learning to real-world applications. Occasionally, elements of a feasibility study are included for academic purposes.
All projects must go through a final design and permitting process prior to work taking place.

Walley School Conversion Project
In June 2016, the Town of Bristol commissioned Brewster Thornton Group Architects, LLP to do a feasibility study on the re-use of the Walley School. Located on the Northwest corner of the Town Common, the Walley School is a historic building that has been unoccupied since its decommission in. Current plans would have the historic location serve as the new Bristol Town Hall.
