Fair Housing

Fair housing means all persons have equal opportunity to be considered for rental units, purchase of property, housing loans, and property insurance regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, mental disability, physical disability, and familial status (presence of children in the home).

The Town of Bristol offers consumers, landlords, property managers and contractors access to fair housing guidelines.

National Fair Housing Alliance: NFHA is a national organization dedicated to eliminating housing discrimination and ensuring equal housing opportunity for all people. NFHA supports an array of activities including education and outreach, public policy and enforcement. 

Housing and Urban Development: HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) works to end housing discrimination, encourage economic opportunity, and succeed in creating diverse, inclusive communities.

Fair Housing RI: Administered by RI Housing, Fair Housing RI is a statewide initiative that's coordinates awareness efforts between several state offices. The goal of this program to is to provide a central hub for Fair Housing resources.
