Summer Safety


The warm weather can pose problems for the very young, elderly, and especially those with illness. Limit activity during the day light hours, stay in air conditioned areas, and drink plenty of water.

When visiting the beach, check to see if life guards are on duty. Do not swim too far from shore, or beyond your capabilities. Apply plenty of sun screen to protect your skin from the sun's rays.

DO NOT use fuels such as gasoline to light barbecue grills or fire pits, as flash fires can cause severe burns. Refer to a grill's manufacturers specifications for lighting instructions.


​Learn CPR


The more people that learn CPR, the better the chance of surviving a cardiac event will be! Contact the department to learn about our no cost simple way of learning CPR, as well as are low cost advance courses.

To accomplish the mission, personnel work hard to ensure a well-trained, well equipped, and educated firefighting and EMS force is available that will provide the Town, and its neighbors when called upon, with the best emergency services possible.

Residential sprinklers are an affordable way to help save lives, and in many cases minimize property damage, in homes.
